“Le Carré” is a highly absorbent, soft, reusable and eco-friendly terry towel.

For absorbing liquids, cleaning the kitchen or bathroom, sponging your table, polishingwindows, washing your children’s hands or wiping the dog’s paws, “Le Carré” is ultra-versatile. Highly absorbent, it’s pleasantly soft and lint-free.

When the need arises, simply run it through the washing machine or dishwasher (up to 95°C!). To revive its color, bathe it in a warm solution of sodium percarbonate.

As you can see, “Le Carré” can be used again, and again, and again! It’ll last for months , and when it’s too worn, simply compost it.

Made from 100% natural fibers (70% wood cellulose / 30% cotton), “Le Carré” is perfectly biodegradable and even compostable! In fact, it decomposes in your soil or compost in 24 weeks.

This special Poya edition was produced in collaboration with sustainable haberdashery Merci Les Abeilles in Oron-le-Châtel!

The artist Nathalie Gonthier has been practicing the art of paper-cutting for several years in the village of La Forclaz (VD).

She created this “ poya ” (or ascent to the mountain pasture), the name given to the springtime transhumance through the Swiss Alps. The Poya is one of our country’s living traditions.

Merci les abeilles is THE committed, eco-responsible haberdashery in Oron-le-Châtel. Nathalie, its founder, is a true zero-waste activist. For her, sewing is a superpower that can change the world, thread by thread. So she selects organic and certified fabrics that protect the planet and our children, and her boutique is brimming with little wonders for sewing enthusiasts.

Nathalie Gonthier is an artist from the canton of Vaud, practicing the art of paper-cutting (or découpage) in her village of La Forclaz. A mother of 4 boys who play ice hockey, she began her decoupage activity at the ice rink refreshment bar.

She creates scenes of peasant life, traditional poya and more modern drawings, all little stories that she tells endlessly in a unique, authentic style.

Green Glitter tip

For us, “Le Carré” by Les Paillettes Vertes is pure and simple .

In Switzerland, we commonly use tons ofrolls of household paper or paper towels made from synthetic materials such as micro-fibre, viscose or polyester.

The former are single-use and produce an impressive waste of paper. The latter, which are washable and long-lasting, fray after a while, and the synthetic fibers disappear down the drain, just like conventional sponges!

Properly cared for and washed regularly,“Le Carré” will last for months, thusavoiding paper waste. Natural fibers won’t have any negative impact on the environment: on the contrary, they’ll nourish your soil and help you grow your salads!
