These straws are made from the natural stems of reeds. They are hollow and rigid, making them ideal for use as drinking straws, just like bamboo. They’re all-natural and therefore biodegradable, and what’s more, they’re home-grown🙂
It’s an ecological alternative to plastic straws, because as well as being biodegradable, it’s also reusable. In fact, reed straws can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand with a brush.
Reed straw is long-lasting, durable and easy to clean. At the end of its life, it can be composted and recycled.
Hand wash with soap or in the dishwasher.

To keep your straws long-lasting, avoid biting them 😉 and avoid leaving them too long in a damp environment. To restore their shine, simply rub them with a little edible oil.

Paille&Co offers reed straws from Lake Neuchâtel.
Their straws are handmade as part of a psychosocial rehabilitation project.
For this project, they are working closely with theAssociation de la Grande Cariçaie in Chesaux-Noréaz to supply reeds from the marshes.
The reeds are cut between September and February in the southern part of Lake Neuchâtel to avoid disturbing the animals and vegetation.
