Toothbrush made from FSC-certified Swiss beechwood, entirely manufactured in our country.
Beech wood is ideal for making toothbrushes: hard, wear-resistant, strong and flexible. What’s more, it’s the most readily available type of hardwood from sustainable forests.
The FCS certificate guarantees that the wood used comes from ecologically and socially responsible forests. The use of local Swiss wood minimizes our carbon footprint.
The wooden handle is 100% biodegradable and coated with a vegetable wax that guarantees safe decomposition of the wood once your toothbrush has reached the end of its life. The waxed handle ensures a smooth, soft finish in the mouth.
The bristles are made of nylon PA 6.12, the type most commonly used in toothbrushes for its hygienic properties and flexibility.
They’re gentle on sensitive gums, with soft bristles for deep cleaning. It’s almost like caressing your gums!
The toothbrushes are available with a choice of 3 engraved motifs, allowing them to be differentiated in the same bathroom. These engravings pay tribute to 3 tree species and reflect the diversity of nature: the tropical palm, thedeciduous tree and the Nordic conifer.
We recommend changing your toothbrush after about 2 months of use.
Delivered in 100% recyclable cardboard packaging.
Liebwerk is a small family business based in Winterthur.
Founders Alem and Lars have a single goal: to do their bit to reduce the daily plastic waste that is increasingly polluting our precious oceans, fields and forests, damaging flora, fauna and, ultimately, human health.
They want to offer sustainable alternatives for everyday needs, convinced that there’s no need to choose between quality and sustainability.
On the one hand, they produce their high-quality wooden toothbrushes locally to minimize their carbon footprint, and on the other, they support a WWF Switzerland forestry project to help preserve tropical forests.
Liebwerk donates 5% of its sales to WWF Switzerland, and to offset the use of wood in their toothbrushes, they support WWF Switzerland’s Tropical Forest project, dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s tropical forests.
“The arrival of the 100% made-in-Switzerland wooden toothbrush is a real revolution!
The carbon footprint of this symbolic object approaches neutrality. Certified sustainable wood, biodegradability, proximity, transparency, CO2 compensation and support for reforestation.
It’s an approach totally in line with our values and consistent with our concern to offer 100% sustainable alternatives, without compromise.
When you want to replace your toothbrush, the easiest way is to break off the head. The brush can be thrown away with the incinerable waste, and the handle can be composted (it’s 100% biodegradable), burned in the fireplace or reused to stake your plants, as a craft for the kids or any other creative urge.”
