The ones who knew all the secrets were our grandmothers!
We sometimes hear that all this talk about natural household products is like going back in time… Well, yes, there’s a bit of that, but it’s all based on common sense!
Between the time of our grandmothers and today, we’ve lost the habit of using natural, simple, healthy and oh-so-effective products. They understood everything!
We’ve been caught up in the marketing spiral that creates the need for a product for the floor, one for the bathroom, one for the stove, one for the vitroceram, one for the windows, one against limescale….. Countless bottles in our cupboards, containing a multitude of ingredients that are not harmless to the air in our homes or to our health.
So little is needed to make our homes clean… and healthy!
It’s almost a pleasure to rediscover ancestral gestures and habits from another era.
As far as baking soda is concerned, to try it is to adopt it. Deodorant, stain remover, abrasive, water softener, non-toxic and perfectly biodegradable, its virtues and properties are almost limitless. We use it everywhere, for everything, with almost every sauce….
In its more granular, technical version, it is often used in household products. But it’s also extremely effective in cosmetics… as long as you choose the 
So what are we waiting for? Here’s a recipe to get you started 🙂
Dental rinse water
Ingredients
A clean 250ml glass bottle
1 tsp fine baking soda (pharma grade)
15 drops of peppermint, tea tree or bay laurel essential oil*, used alone or in combination.
How to proceed
Pour boiled lukewarm water into your bottle, up to 3/4 full.
Add the baking soda and essential oils, and shake well.
All set!
Use
Use mouthwash after brushing your teeth.
Shake the bottle before each use, swirl for 30 sec. in the mouth and spit out.
Smooth, fresh teeth guaranteed!
*Caution: essential oils are powerful. They should not be used by children, pregnant or breast-feeding women. Always seek specialist advice before using essential oils.
These 3 essential oils are recommended for the care of teeth and gums in case of gingivitis, mouth ulcers or dental pain:
– peppermint is refreshing, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory
– tea tree is antiseptic (antibacterial and antiviral)
– noble laurel is analgesic (painkiller) and antiseptic (antibacterial and antiviral)
